2 Children Lost, 280+ Families Devastated in Vikas Nagar Slum Fire
The Devastation
A massive fire recently broke out in the Vikas Nagar slum area of Lucknow, turning hundreds of fragile homes into ashes within hours. The blaze spread rapidly, fueled by the explosion of over 50 LPG cylinders. In the chaos, families ran for safety, but the flames moved faster than they could escape.
"इस दर्दनाक हादसे में 280 से ज़्यादा घर जलकर खाक हो गए। सबसे दुख की बात यह है कि 90% से ज़्यादा मुतास्सिर (victims) हमारे मुस्लिम भाई-बहन हैं। 1,000 से ज़्यादा लोग आज खुले आसमान के नीचे सोने को मजबूर हैं।"
Tragically, 2 children lost their lives in the fire, their bodies recovered during rescue operations the following morning. The emotional and physical trauma suffered by survivors is immense. Many families were separated in the chaos, and children were left crying for food and safety in the aftermath.
